I wanted to get a Doodle speaker for a few reasons. First, I think they looked really cool. Second, because I have some great songs from itunes on my laptop and the audio on my laptop is not loud enough to hear those great songs throughout my house, so I was hoping I could hear them when in the kitchen while preparing dinner or doing the dishes. The other reason is that I wanted to see how the printing is on them. I wanted to see also how well it fit on my laptop stand as my laptop stand isn't very big to have anything "extra" on besides my laptop itself, my mouse, and my mousepad.
First, the doodle speaker I ordered was THIS ONE. I ordered this particular one for several reasons. First, I think the message it sends (to take care of our planet) is an important one, and one I need reminding of. Seeing it there next to me while I'm working will be a great reminder. Secondly, I love stick figures! And of course, it's just colorful and cute.
I watched the episode of Shark Tank on ABC television right before Zazzle released them for sale to the public. I loved them right from that episode of Shark Tank and thought to myself, wow, if these speakers really are as portable, small, yet have decent sound capability they are going to be huge sellers at Zazzle, because how cool is it to be able to customize your own speaker, or get one that's totally "you"!?
I've included some photos of the Doodle speaker I ordered. As you can see, it fits extremely well on my not so big laptop stand. There's plenty of room for it without it dropping off. The stand in back is sturdy and I have had no problems with it falling over or falling off my stand, but even if it did fall off, the plug is in pretty well and the cord not too long so it wouldn't hit the floor.
I've taken a photo of the back of the speaker so you can see the stand as well as battery compartment. It takes two AAA batteries. The power on/off switch is on the back and when on, a tiny little light displayers on the speaker front, middle above the graphic.
The stick figure graphic printed beautifully! It's colorful and every bit as bright and cheery as you see in the photo of it in my store. I've included a photo of the front of the speaker as well so you can see how well it printed. The third photo is of the speaker on the laptop stand so you can see how well it fits.
As for sound, I am truly impressed! I hoped it would have decent sound, and it does. It surpasses my expectations. I can now hear my itune songs anywhere in the house. Keep in mind my house is under 1,000 square feet, but I can hear my music well from the furthest area of my house with my laptop turned up only to half audio. I'm pleased with the Doodle speaker to say the least. I actually love it!

The owners of the Doodle speakers, Orig Audio, appeared on ABC's Shark Tank but that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their press bragging rights. They not only have Doodle speakers but other cool speakers including the cube speakers that are made with recycled materials! OrigAudio started out as just a couple of guys who travelled a lot and wanted an easy way to listen to their music while on the go. And so, seeing a need, they filled it and turned it into a huge business offering several portable audio solutions.
